PrintFactory was developed to unite the entire range of functions required today in a modern wide format production environment in one application. PrintFactory is a modular system, consisting of Layout, Editor, WorkFlow (in Connect) RIP, Calibrator and PrintStation.

At PrintFactory, we are committed to protecting our resellers’ opportunities to convert potential customers and retain existing ones. To this end, we have established the following guidelines:

Regional Exclusivity

  • In certain regions, resellers may achieve exclusive status based on their market penetration and other performance indicators.
  • This exclusivity can be discussed with your account managers.

Managing Potential Channel Conflict

  • Existing Customers: If a customer is already subscribed through a dealer, another dealer cannot sell PrintFactory to that same customer unless the subscription has expired or the customer has requested a change in writing. In such cases, the current dealer will be notified.
  • Prospects with Trials: If a dealer installs a trial for a prospect, that account is exclusive for 90 days to allow the dealer to close the deal. During this period, no other dealer can sell PrintFactory to the prospect unless the prospect requests a change in writing. The current dealer will be notified of this request.

We strive to discourage poaching and channel conflict at all times, recognizing and valuing the vital role resellers play in distributing our product.

A Trial site allows the customer to explore PrintFactory for a period of 14 days. This can be extended with another 7 days. Click on the “+” at the Trial Expiration field to extend the trial with 7-days.

NB: Starting 1 October 2023, we will be reducing the free trial period for our SaaS subscriptions from 30 days to 14 days.

Our Trade-In scheme offers customers the opportunity to benefit from a range of incentives. To participate in the scheme, customers must provide a valid competitor RIP/Workflow system. Upon verification, customers are eligible for a once-off discount of up to 25% on their new Yearly SaaS or Capital Purchase subscription. This discount will be applied by credit note after we receive the old dongle/license from the customer.

Trade-In Dongle Returns

Dongle to be returned within one calendar month to PrintFactory, or distributor.

If dongle is returned within 28 days, a credit note will be raised for up to 25% of the value of the order.

Trade-In Deactivation

For software that is not hardware protected, 2 screen shots should be sent to sales@printfactory.cloud:

  • The 1st – of the active license.
  • The 2nd – of the license being deactivated.

    Note: For Caldera you will need to send the access number as proof of deactivation

PrintFactory is available as a capital purchase with a low subscription fee or as SaaS which is fully subscription based.

All future software updates and upgrades are free of charge during the contract duration. Subscription Contracts can be purchased with the current software version only. Previous software versions have to be upgraded before signing up for a Subscription plan.

A subscription is valid for one year. It has to cover all software modules. The price of the subscription is a percentage of the retail price of the configuration according to the price-list effective at the moment of purchase of the subscription.

In case of capital purchase a subscription is included for the first year and is valid for the complete configuration.

The price of the subscription is a percentage of the retail price of the configuration according to the price-list effective at the moment of purchase of the subscription.

It’s important to note that certain functions, such as Driver Swap, adding a driver, and accessing cloud features like Connect, require a valid subscription for a capital purchase. This ensures seamless access to essential functionalities and enhances the overall user experience.

The responsibility for suspending a monthly or yearly SaaS subscription lies with the dealer. It is crucial for dealers to take proactive action and ensure the suspension of the subscription before the renewal date. By doing so, dealers can effectively manage their subscriptions and avoid any unnecessary charges or disruptions to their service. We highly emphasize the importance of timely action in suspending subscriptions to maintain smooth operations and financial control.

Printers are priced according to the class of driver the printer belongs to.

The drivers are divided into the following categories, but exceptions can exist:

  • Small : Desktop printers and small water-based printers
  • Medium : Eco-solvent and small latex printers 
  • Large : Low priced UV-curing and solvent printers 
  • Wide : Top range UV-curing and latex printers)
  • Industrial : Industrial and in-line printers

Capital Purchase

To exchange a driver within the same class or a lower class, requires a subscription.

If  the new driver is of the same price or higher, we offer a 100% reimbursement. This allows you to have greater flexibility in selecting a driver without incurring additional costs if you choose a higher-priced option.

Kindly note that no refund will be provided when exchanging a higher category driver for a lower category driver.

SaaS Subscription

Additionally, when a Subscription is active, customers have the opportunity to receive up to 100% of the value of their returned driver for the remaining duration of their subscription. This ensures that customers can make the most of their subscription and maximize their benefits.

To streamline processes and minimize the need for credit notes, we kindly request customers to make any necessary configuration changes prior to their subscription renewals. This proactive approach ensures that unnecessary requests for credit notes can be avoided. It’s important to note that no refunds will be issued for changes or driver swaps; instead, the credited amount will be retained as a balance on the dealer account. This balance can then be utilized to offset future payments, providing flexibility and convenience for our valued customers. By taking this proactive approach, we can maintain efficient operations and provide a seamless experience for all parties involved.

Each license is registered to the name of the end-user. At the moment the end-user has registered his/her license at https://app.printfactory.cloud/register a certificate of ownership will be issued as proof of the ownership of the license.

Reissuing of a lost license (Clone) is subject to approval and handling fee of € 125.

We offer customers who have purchased a capital purchase license the flexibility to switch to a SaaS plan at any time. This option becomes especially attractive when their subscription has lapsed for an extended period and their software is not up-to-date. By switching to SaaS, customers can enjoy all the capabilities of the latest software and access cloud services (with a Connect plan).
When customers decide to switch to SaaS, their investment in the capital purchase license is converted into a credit that covers a specific number of months of SaaS fees. It’s important to note that during the first year after transitioning to SaaS, customers are not allowed to reduce their configuration size. Any necessary adjustments should be made prior to the conversion.
The number of months of credit a customer receives is determined by the length of time their license subscription has been inactive. For licenses that have not lapsed, a credit of 6 months is given. For each additional 6-month period that the license has been out of maintenance, one month of credit is deducted.
For example, if a customer’s license subscription expired 20 months ago, they would receive 20/6 = 3 months less credit. This means they can start using the latest software and services immediately and will only be charged the SaaS fee after 3 months.

We strongly discourage this conversion for the following reasons:

  • Continued Cloud Functionality: Many of PrintFactory’s features rely on cloud-based services, and some functions may require a valid Support and Updates subscription. By converting to a perpetual license, you may lose access to these vital cloud functions unless you add an additional Support and Updates subscription (20% of the cost of a perpetual license per year) 

 

  • Exclusion of “Sign-up” Bonus: When converting from SaaS to a perpetual license, it’s important to note that we do not include the “sign-up” bonus of 12 months of free support and upgrades. This bonus is specifically designed for new customers and is not applicable to existing license holders.

 

In summary, while we do offer the option to convert from SaaS to perpetual licenses, it’s essential to consider the potential loss of cloud-based functions and the exclusion of the “sign-up” bonus.

We encourage you to carefully assess your needs and weigh the benefits of each licensing model before making a decision. Our support team is always available to assist you in making the right choice for your specific requirements.

Please note that certain cloud functions may have limited availability after the initial one-year period unless you purchase a subscription. It is important to be aware that continued access to these specific cloud functions requires an active Support and Updates subscription beyond the first year.
